There are more than one million kids participating in high school football nationwide. At some point in their young careers they were taught the complexities of the game – rules, positions, verbiage, etc.

Obviously, that is an important part of a players’ development. But there are plenty of youngsters who aren’t yet ready for the demands of football with full-pads.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and USA Football, the national governing body leading the development and growth of youth, high school and international amateur football, have teamed up to host a coaching school for youth football coaches in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

The one-day clinic features classroom instruction and on-field teaching techniques at the team’s headquarters at the UPMC Sports Performance Complex.
